REKOD ("we," "us," or "our") is a shop management application built for Market traders and small business Owners. Our service is accessible at app.rekod.ng.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Service. It also explains your rights over your data.

We collect only the information that is necessary to provide the Service to you.
2.1 Information You Give Us Directly
• Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you register.
• Shop information: Your shop name, location (city, state), and business category.
• Business data: Products, prices, cost prices, sales records, stock quantities, staff details (names and email addresses), and customer credit entries — all entered by you.
• Support communications: Any messages you send to our support team.
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:
• Device information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
• Usage data: Features used, screens visited, session duration, and error logs. This helps us fix bugs and improve the app.
• Connection data: IP address, time zone, and network type.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
• We do not collect payment card details. Any payment processing is handled by third-party providers and governed by their privacy policies.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We use your information solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service. Specifically:
• To provide the Service: Process sales, manage inventory, generate reports, and enable staff collaboration.

Processing is necessary to provide the Service you signed up for — recording sales, managing stock, generating reports, and managing your team.

Shop Owners can view all data within their shop. Staff see only the data relevant to their assigned role. You control who you invite to your shop.

5.4 Business Transfers
In the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred. We will notify affected users with reasonable advance notice.
We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
6.1 Where Your Data is Stored
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers. We take reasonable steps to ensure our hosting providers maintain appropriate physical and digital security controls.

6.3 Offline Data
REKOD works in low-connectivity environments. Data entered offline is stored temporarily on your device and synced to our servers when a connection is available.
6.4 No Guarantee
While we take security seriously, no system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service.
• Active accounts: We keep your data while your account is in use.
• Deleted accounts: If you request account deletion, we will permanently delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records by law (e.g., for dispute resolution or regulatory compliance).
• Anonymized data: We may retain anonymized, aggregated data (which cannot identify you) indefinitely for product improvement purposes.

You may export your business data (sales records, product lists, reports) in PDF or other available formats directly within the app.
8.5 Right to Object
You may object to processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis.
8.6 How to Exercise Your Rights
Contact us through the in-app support chat. We will respond to all requests within 30 days. We will not charge a fee for reasonable requests.
REKOD is a business management tool intended for adults operating commercial enterprises. The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe this has occurred, please contact us through the in-app support chat.
10.1 Web App
Our web application may use essential cookies and local storage to maintain your session, remember preferences, and ensure the app functions correctly. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
10.2 Progressive Web App (PWA)
If you install the Service as a PWA on your device, it may use local device storage to retain your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
10.3 Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how users interact with the app. This data is aggregated and anonymized — it cannot be used to identify you personally.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:
